IMPORTANT: School Uniforms Update
Classy Uniforms has
been serving Utah Valley charter schools by providing school uniforms over the
last six years. They have decided to focus on their core business of embroidery
and screen printing, so this will be their last year selling school uniforms.
They will do their best to provide Maeser parents and students with polos with
our embroidered logo, but they
recommend that parents shop early this year, as supplies will be
limited. They are bringing in new inventory that should be ready by July 20th.
We are grateful to Classy Uniforms for the service they have provided for our
parents and students over the last six years and will miss working with them as
our local school uniform vendor, but we wish them well as they refocus their
business model.
Our Maeser uniform items will continue to be available online through Lands’ End School Uniforms and at Dennis School Uniforms in Salt Lake City. We are in the process of looking for another vendor who can supply our uniforms locally.

Please Update Your 2015-16 Enrollment
Information
If your plans for next year have changed and you will not be
enrolling your student at Maeser, please contact us ASAP (registrar@maeserprep.org) to let us know. We
have many wait-listed students who are anxiously waiting for a spot to become
available!
Summer Reading Program
Each summer, Maeser asks students to read a book that
connects to their next grade. This year, we have six exciting books for
students to read. Then, when we get back to the new school year, we'll invite
them and their parents to come to an evening book club where we'll discuss the
book we've all read. Come Friday, 28 August 2015 for an evening of food,
conversation, and a great way to kick off the new school year! You can
find out which editions we’re using and more on our website.

Preseason Conditioning
Preseason conditioning is already underway! If you’re
serious about making the team, you should plan on coming. The schedule is as follows
through the month of July:
Mondays
and Wednesdays: 8:00-10:00am at the school. Bring running shoes and cleats.
Thursdays:
8:00-9:00am at CrossFit Lehi (map). Bring workout shoes.
Communication
The girls’ soccer team has a Google Classroom set up.
If you are a current Maeser student, log into your school Google account on
classroom and enter the class code: mmjuel8 -- this is how we’ll be communicating
during the summer. We also have a Maeser Prep Soccer Facebook page (accessible here) where information will be shared. If you are a new
Maeser student who plans to try out for the high school girls’ soccer team this
fall, please email Coach Simmons (dustin.simmons@maeserprep.org) as soon as
possible.
Tryouts
Tryouts for the girls’ high school soccer team will
begin on August 3rd. In order to try out, you must go to www.registermyathlete.com to fill out the
registration forms, and get a physical. Please note that tryouts are before school
even starts. Please make your vacation plans accordingly.
If you have questions, contact Coach Simmons (dustin.simmons@maeserprep.org).
Fall Sports Eligibility
Academic eligibility for fall sports is based on your 4th term grades. Students must
earn a 2.0 or higher with no more than 1 failing grade to be eligible. No
grades (NGs) count as failing grades. This policy also applies to 8th graders
and new students to Maeser Prep.
Sports Eligibility for NEW Maeser Students
If you will be a new 10th, 11th, or 12th grader at
Maeser Prep for the 2015-2016 school year and are interested in playing sports
please contact Jared Norris (jared.norris@maeserprep.org) about eligibility.
You will need to get a transfer approved by UHSAA and the earlier the paperwork
is submitted the better. This applies
even if you never played a sport at another school. Once a student
attends a high school their eligibility is established at that high school. New
9th graders will establish their eligibility at Maeser Prep and should not have
to get a transfer approved unless they tried out for a sport at a different
high school.

PowerSchool Access
Please Update Your Bookmarks!
PowerSchool is up and running at its new home: http://maeserprep.powerschool.com. You will want to
update your PowerSchool bookmarks in your browser (and/or create a new desktop
shortcut, if you access PowerSchool that way) to point to the new web address.
Your username and password has not changed.
If you are a new
Maeser family, we will be sending you login information for your
PowerSchool parent and student accounts later this month.
New Look for PowerSchool
We will be upgrading PowerSchool to a new version in
the next two weeks. The new version of PowerSchool has a new look and some
great new features to help enhance your user experience. The upgrade includes
improvements to the PowerSchool Mobile app: the parent and student mobile apps
have been combined into a single app with this new release, and you will have
the ability to sign up for push notifications whenever there are grade changes
or impacts to your student’s attendance record. We are also preparing several Maeser-specific
enhancements that will be rolled out over the course of this school year – stay
tuned!
We do expect a short period of downtime during the
upgrade, so if you have difficulty logging in, please wait for a day and then
try again. If you continue to have trouble accessing PowerSchool, please
contact us at info@maeserprep.org for
assistance.
