Assessment Announcements
Junior ACT Day: Tuesday, February 28  **Juniors Only**
Tuesday, February 28th will be an ACT-testing-only day for our school. There will be NO SCHOOL that day for students who are not in 11th grade.

On Tuesday, February 28th, all 11th-grade students in the State of Utah will be taking the ACT. This is a free opportunity for all juniors to take the ACT. All juniors will be taking the ACT from 7:30am until approximately 12:00pm that day – please arrive on time! Breakfast will be available from 7:00-7:30am. Please make sure your student brings a photo ID (Maeser student ID, driver’s license, or passport), a #2 pencil, and an approved calculator.

**PLEASE NOTE: We are ONLY allowed to test juniors on February 28th – we are NOT able to order or administer tests for students in any other grade. Due to ACT’s test security requirements and the need for an undisturbed testing environment, we cannot allow any students on campus who are not part of the ACT administration. Please make other arrangements for your students in other grade levels on February 28th as we will not have space or supervision available for them on our campus that day.**

Maeser Host Families Needed for Foreign Exchange Students: THIS YEAR
We still need Maeser host families for two male foreign exchange students currently attending Maeser this year. If you are able to host a student -- or know someone who might be interested -- please contact our NACEL rep, Wendy Waldes, at (801) 709-3583 or wendywaldes@gmail.com.

Host Families Needed for Foreign Exchange NEXT YEAR
NACEL
NACEL is currently accepting applications for volunteer families who are interested in hosting an exchange student in their home for the upcoming school year. Foreign exchange students make a great contribution to our school, our community, and to your family. Students are carefully selected and screened, and they come with their own health insurance and spending money — all that is required from you is a bed, board and welcome. If your family is interested in hosting an exchange student next year, please call Wendy Waldes for more information: wendywaldes@gmail.com or 801-709-3583.

Foreign Links Around the Globe (FLAG)
Is this your year to host a foreign exchange student? Show your love and acceptance for the people of the world by inviting a young person from another country into your home for the 2017-18 school year. Go to www.flag-intl.org or email Tiina Watts at twatts@flag-intl.org for more information. Foreign Links Around the Globe (FLAG) is a non-profit exchange program certified through the department of state.

Help Us Stay In Touch With Your Family!
Are you getting our emails, phone calls, and text messages?

If your address, phone number, or email address has changed, or you wish to change the email address or phone number for school communications, please let us know by calling the front office or emailing info@maeserprep.org.

Maeser utilizes a system called SchoolMessenger that works with PowerSchool to deliver email, phone messages, and text messages with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts, our Maeser Updates weekly e-newsletter, and more. SchoolMessenger also automatically sends out emails and phone calls each night if your student has an unexcused absence in one or more classes during the day, and is the mechanism by which we would notify families in case of an emergency closure or school lockdown. Occasionally these emails are sent to Spam or Junk Mail folders, so if you are not receiving communications from the school, please check these folders to see if the emails are being misdirected.

To take advantage of our text messaging service, you must Opt In for text messages!
You can Opt In to participate in our text messaging service by replying “Y” to that text message, or you can Opt In now by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587. Your cell number must be listed in PowerSchool in order for your sign-up to be connected to our school.
