How is SAGE Testing Used?
We use our students' test scores, in combination with their progress in their classes, to help us inform and improve instruction. The State uses SAGE test scores as a major component of our school's grade, which is published on the state's Data Gateway website.
We have received clarification from the State Office of Education regarding the impact of students who opt out of testing on our school grade. Prior to this year’s testing cycle, students whose parents opted them out of testing received a score of “not proficient” on each test. In late May 2015, at the close of last year’s SAGE testing cycle, new legislation went into effect that removed parent-opt-out students entirely from the Utah school grading calculation. We appreciate all of our Maeser parents who contacted their state legislators to ask for this change!
If you would prefer to opt your student out, please sign and return your student’s opt-out form (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-hXuLKjcNtAMmNYSE9sVzhEMFk/view?usp=sharing) either by email (assessment@maeserprep.org) or at the front desk (M-Th 7am-3:45pm, F 7am-1pm) no later than one school day before the test from which you are opting your student out, to allow us time to mark your student correctly in the testing system and make arrangements for supervision during testing.
Questions?
If you have questions about the tests your student is scheduled to take this year, please contact Mrs. Myers at jennifer.myers@maeserprep.org.

Host a Foreign Exchange Student in 2016-2017
NACEL is currently accepting applications for volunteer families who are interested in hosting an exchange student in their home for the upcoming school year. Foreign exchange students make a great contribution to our school, our community, and to your family. Students are carefully selected and screened, and they come with their own health insurance and spending money — all that is required from you is a bed, board and welcome. If your family is interested in hosting an exchange student next year, please call Wendy Waldes for more information: wendywaldes@gmail.com or 801-709-3583.

The Northridge Learning Center Orem campus is temporarily closed. There are other campuses for students to get workbooks and take tests, but they are going to have to plan ahead a little more. It looks like the Orem campus will probably open again, but right now there is a staffing issue of some kind.
